Anna Bond Gunning

Anna Bond Gunning is a Principal at ghSMART. She specialises in providing executive assessment and development, management due diligence, top team effectiveness and coaching to senior leaders within FTSE 100, Fortune 500, private equity firms and private organisations. Anna is known for her analytical and rigorous approach to her assessment and development work with clients. Much of her coaching work is centred on supporting executives who face challenging situations, particularly around pivotal points in their careers. With over 18 years of assessment, development and consulting experience, she brings particular sector experience in financial and professional services and consults regularly throughout the UK and Europe, the United States and Asia Pac.

Prior to joining ghSMART, Anna was a Partner at RHR International, a leading management psychology consulting firm. Her work focused on assessing and developing senior leaders from to enable them to fulfil their full potential whilst achieving growth and success in their organisations. Anna was instrumental in developing the firm’s Private Equity practice and led a pan Europe / US study, “Human Capital in Private Equity”.

Prior to joining RHR International, Anna worked in both internal and external consulting roles. She has been employed by several leading business psychology consultancies including OPP Ltd, SHL, and Sheffield Consulting (Australasia). Whilst at OPP, Anna designed and delivered a number of significant leadership development programmes in the financial services sector, and was instrumental in winning and delivering private equity due diligence assessment work. At Sheffield Consulting, her work included large restructuring projects and executive assessment for selection and development. Her work at SHL included test development and assessment centre work. Anna’s internal consulting experience was gained at MCI (Verizon), where she worked on setting up their resourcing function along with supporting a major integration project. She also consulted on their large-scale redundancy and outplacement work of 2001 – 2002.

Anna’s undergraduate studies were in Psychology and Commerce, with a major in Psychology, and her postgraduate in Applied Industrial/Organisational Psychology, with a Masters in Science (with first class honours) from the University of Canterbury. She is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She holds an EMCC accredited, post-graduate qualification in Advanced Executive Coaching and is a BPS qualified assessor.
