Steve is a Principal at ghSMART. He consults globally on selecting, developing, and utilizing senior leadership capital within the context of positional demands, strategic goals, and organizational culture. He also consults on leadership/cultural issues during acquisitions (both private equity and corporate), and on the links between organizational culture and financial performance.
Steve has over 25 years of experience consulting with the senior leaders within a wide range of settings, including Fortune 500 companies, PE firms, hedge funds, and entrepreneurial start-ups. Prior to joining ghSMART, his experience includes working in the Leadership Consulting practice of Heidrick & Struggles International, heading the Executive Assessment practice for the Southeast region of Right Management Consultants, partnering to start Leadership Capital Group (a boutique assessment/development firm), and serving as a consultant for Sperduto & Associates.
Steve earned his undergraduate and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. Steve is a member of the American Psychological Association, and a past-President of the Society of Consulting Psychology. Steve and his wife live in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
